You know when you make an online order and it arrives and you LOVE IT ALL. This blog post right here is one of those moments. I spent quite honestly, HOURS on the NET-A-PORTER website* crafting three outfits that I felt very drawn to and featured a tonne of knitwear that I could see coming in very handy as the chill starts to come in, and I absolutely love it all. It’s hard to pick a favourite of the three, but there is one that pips it the post – just. And if you’re just window shopping right now, then I’ve added some outfit formulas to add to your notes for next time you’re standing in front of your wardrobe and have no idea where to start. Here are some ideas…

OUTFIT ONE

What is cosier than knits, on knits, on knits?! I’m talking a knitted tank top + knitted trousers + cashmere jumper + cashmere jacket + Mary-Janes. It just doesn’t get cosier than that. Putting this on just felt like the perfect weekend outfit, for like a little brunch out or just hanging with friends. So comfortable, but still so darn chic – it’s the addition of the structured jacket and shoes that take it to the next level here. This was the first time that I’d tried Guest in Residence – a new brand to NET-A-PORTER – and I currently have both of the items in basket, so yeah, I’m a fan! The Oversized Cashmere Jumper* felt like actual butter, and the Topstitched Cashmere Jacket* was something that I hadn’t seen before – half cardigan, half jacket and a layering piece that I think would come in super handy over the winter months. All beautifully crafted and all 100% cashmere.

OUTFIT TWO

Say you’ve got a day where you’re a bit ‘here, there and everywhere’ – this is what I would recommend. For me that’s a day of meetings in London. It’s only a short walk for me to get to the train and then before you know it I’m in the tropical climate, also known as the underground. And really I do very little walking outside as I’m just between tubes and meeting spots all day and usually doing quite the power walk to get from place to place. You get it – I’m warm! And carrying around all your extra layers as you peel off is not the one! So for those days I’d recommend – a sleeveless knit + mid-weight coat + straight leg jeans + pointed boots. Your arms are covered but once you reach your destination you can cool down without melting. I really want to discuss the AGOLDE 90’s Pinch Waist Long Jeans*. They are such a good length to wear with boots and have that KHAITE Danielle Jean* feel, but personally I find the AGOLDE way more comfortable. Speaking of comfort – the Toteme Mid-Heel Boots*?! I walked 20,000 steps in them in New York and whilst I was quite pumped to take them off at the end of the day, still not a blister in sight. They are so good.

OUTFIT THREE

This might just be my favourite outfit from the three, but this really is a do-it-all one. The wide leg jeans with a pointed boot is such a classy silhouette and the roll-neck does the practical thing of keeping you toasty. Chunky roll-neck + belt + wide-leg jeans + pointed boots – is a formula to add to your repertoire immediately. I’d been looking for a turn-up jean that is right for my 5’7″ frame and these are it. The AGOLDE Dame Jeans* are nice and high on the waist and not too baggy in the rear. I’d recommend going one or two sizes smaller than your usual depending on where you want it to sit on the hips (for a lower rise fit go one size down, or higher on the waist go two sizes down). And can we just take a second for the Toteme T-Lock Bag*!? It has so easily slotted into every outfit that I put together for this and is big enough to actually be practical for daily use without being unwieldy. I am very, very tempted to make a purchase.
