Sindh Govt Makes Biometric Verification Mandatory for Vehicle Registration and Transfers – Startup Pakistan

Sindh Excise Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a new policy aimed at improving transparency within the Excise Department. The policy will be introduced in three phases to ensure smoother implementation.

The first phase, which begins on July 1st, will require all new vehicle registrations to go through mandatory biometric verification. This means that anyone registering a new vehicle must confirm their identity using biometric data, such as fingerprints.

In the second phase, starting on November 1st, the same biometric requirement will be applied to individuals purchasing vehicles. This step is designed to make the vehicle buying process more secure and transparent.

Overall, the new policy aims to enhance the integrity of vehicle registrations and transactions, reducing the chances of fraud and other illegal activities within the system.
