Punjab to Launch Tourist Glass Train Between Rawalpindi and Murree – Startup Pakistan
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif recently co-chaired a lengthy five-hour meeting. During this session, they gave their approval to the Murree development plan. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb outlined various projects included in this plan, covering development, beautification, transportation, construction, and rehabilitation efforts.
Several significant decisions were made during the meeting. These decisions include initiating the Rawalpindi-Murree tourist glass train project, which will involve international consultancy. There are also plans to relocate tall hotel buildings that are obstructing Mall Road and restore old city names and historical building names in Murree.
Additionally, amendments to building laws were approved, which will now transfer the authority for construction approvals to the provincial government. There are also plans to implement a comprehensive drinking water supply system and improve infrastructure in villages across the region.
This meeting underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing Murree’s development and preserving its historical heritage. The decisions taken aim to improve tourism, modernize infrastructure, and ensure sustainable growth in the area.
