Punjab to Launch Chromebooks Production in Collaboration with Australian Firm – Startup Pakistan

Punjab, in collaboration with an Australian firm, has embarked on a new initiative to advance digital education by commencing the assembly of Chromebooks. This groundbreaking effort was unveiled during a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The initiative includes a multifaceted approach aimed at transforming the educational landscape across the region.

As part of this initiative, it was announced that 50,000 students will receive Google IDs, facilitating their access to digital learning resources. Additionally, 1,000 teachers will be enrolled in specialized digital certification courses at no cost, enhancing their teaching capabilities in the digital era. To bolster these efforts, Google for Education has pledged $10.5 million in support of the project, underscoring its commitment to fostering digital literacy and education.

In conjunction with the assembly of Chromebooks, Punjab will launch the innovative “Digital School on Wheels” project. This mobile educational initiative aims to bring technology directly to underserved communities, providing students and educators with access to digital tools and resources. Furthermore, Google will collaborate closely to compile crucial data on out-of-school children, helping policymakers better understand and address educational gaps.
