Punjab Reduces Transport Fares by Up to Rs. 70 Following Drop in Fuel Prices – Startup Pakistan
Transport fares in Punjab have been lowered by 30 to 70 rupees due to the drop in petroleum prices, according to an announcement by Provincial Minister Azma Bukhari.
This fare reduction, which is being implemented in celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), is part of a broader effort led by Maryam Nawaz.
Azma Bukhari highlighted that Punjab is unique in offering refunds to passengers who have paid more than the revised fare, with district teams actively monitoring to ensure compliance.
She also criticized opposition figures for failing to take similar actions and emphasized that Maryam Nawaz is dedicated to enforcing fare cuts and preventing any instances of overcharging.
This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on travelers and demonstrate the government’s commitment to fair pricing.
