Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Announces July 10 Distribution Date for E-Bikes – Startup Pakistan

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the launch date for the electric bike distribution initiative during a session at the Punjab Assembly in Lahore. This project, which is part of the Chief Minister Youth Initiative, will start on July 10 and aims to provide e-bikes to students.

During her speech, she highlighted her government’s achievements in the first 100 days. She mentioned the introduction of a historic, tax-free budget and several initiatives such as restarting the laptop scheme and enrolling out-of-school children.

She also emphasized the importance of free healthcare services, which include providing medicines and treatments in public hospitals. Additionally, she outlined support measures for farmers, including interest-free loans and subsidies on agricultural machinery.

The e-bike initiative, initially launched on April 12, is set to distribute 20,000 bikes to students. These bikes will be provided through easy monthly installment plans. Male students will pay Rs 11,676 per month, while female students will have a discounted rate of Rs 7,325 per month.

The initiative will ensure a balanced distribution of bikes between urban and rural areas. In urban areas, there will be a 50/50 percent quota for males and females. In rural areas, 70 percent of the bikes will be reserved for male students and 30 percent for female students.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support youth and improve accessibility to education and resources. By providing e-bikes, the government aims to make it easier for students to commute to their educational institutions, thereby encouraging higher attendance and participation in academic activities.
