Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to personally welcome Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem at Lahore airport. Nadeem, who recently won the javelin throw final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will be arriving from Istanbul at 1 am on Saturday night.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari have called on party workers to give Nadeem a warm and enthusiastic welcome at the airport. South Asian Athletics Chairman Mohammad Akram Sahi will be accompanying Nadeem on his return to Pakistan.

Arshad Nadeem made history by setting a new Olympic record with an incredible 92.97m throw, becoming Pakistan’s first-ever individual Olympic gold medalist. His throw broke the previous record of 90.57m, which had been held since 2008 by Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen.

Nadeem’s remarkable achievement has filled the nation with pride and joy, and his homecoming will be a momentous occasion to celebrate his success.
