Pakistan’s New Special Technology Zones to Boost Tech Exports by $350mn – Startup Pakistan
Pakistan has launched four new Special Technology Zones (STZs) in the Punjab region, which are expected to significantly boost the country’s tech industry. These zones could increase annual exports by as much as $350 million.
The Special Technology Zones will provide space for up to 50,000 professionals, offering new opportunities for employment and innovation. The Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) emphasized that these zones will be essential for the country’s growing technology sector.
The creation of these zones is part of the Prime Minister’s broader plan to create more jobs for young people and advance Pakistan’s tech capabilities.
The zones include NUST and Tech7 in Islamabad, Mindbridge in Lahore, and Capital Smart in Rawalpindi. Altogether, these zones cover a total of 1.4 million square feet and 130 acres, all of which are dedicated to technology development.
These areas are set to become key hubs for tech businesses and innovation, driving growth in the sector.
