Illinois Man Arrested for Threatening Mahomes and Kelce at Morgan Wallen Concert
An Illinois man has been charged with a felony after allegedly threatening to shoot Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce during a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday night.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today that Aaron Brown of Winchester, Illinois, faces a Class E felony of Making a Terrorist Threat in the 2nd Degree.

The concert was delayed by 40 minutes as Kansas City police detectives and intelligence analysts in the Kansas City Fusion Center at GEHA Field at Arrowhead monitored the situation. They observed a threat on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), posted by Brown, targeting Mahomes and Kelce.

“Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife,” Brown allegedly wrote. “If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the f–in shot. F–k em!”

Mahomes and Kelce had made a surprise appearance at the concert, escorting Wallen onto the stage, which was met with enthusiastic cheers. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, captured the moment and shared it on social media, showing the crowd’s excitement.

Authorities contacted Brown via phone and located him at the concert with his girlfriend. He admitted that his actions were a “stupid, stupid, stupid mistake” and was arrested. The defendant was charged earlier today, with bond set at $15,000.

Concert organizers and law enforcement took the threats seriously due to the heightened tensions. Brown, using the handle “Gooey Bag” on X, also posted further inflammatory comments.

The incident drew significant attention and overshadowed the concert. Wallen, wearing a jersey with his name and number seven, addressed the crowd, encouraging them to stand up for their beliefs.

This event follows recent controversies at Arrowhead Stadium, including Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s commencement speech that contained sexist and anti-LGBTQ remarks, adding another layer to the situation.
