Master Motor Corporation and Yutong Bus Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a joint venture focused on manufacturing and assembling Yutong’s new energy city buses in Pakistan. This joint venture, called Yutong Master, will build a greenfield plant, making it the first company in Pakistan to produce city buses locally.
Yutong Master will manufacture Yutong’s hybrid and electric New Energy City Buses, which are expected to significantly improve public transportation in Pakistan. This initiative is in line with the government’s infrastructure development goals, promoting more sustainable and efficient urban transport solutions.
The MoU was signed by Danial Malik of Master Motor and Huang Yuanchao of Yutong at the Pakistan Shenzhen Business Conference on June 5, 2024. This event took place during Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China, aimed at boosting economic activity between the two countries.
The establishment of this joint venture not only marks a significant step towards modernizing Pakistan’s public transport system but also represents a major investment in the country’s manufacturing sector. The greenfield plant will likely create numerous job opportunities and contribute to the local economy.
Additionally, the production of hybrid and electric buses aligns with global trends towards more environmentally friendly transportation options. By introducing these new energy city buses, Pakistan will be able to reduce its carbon footprint and improve air quality in its cities.
This collaboration between Master Motor Corporation and Yutong Bus Company highlights the strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and China and demonstrates a shared commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement.
