Nice game for Mac in this one with 28 pts and what I believe is his first 0 turnover game since early in the Showcase Cup portion of the season. He had 0 turnover games regularly last season, so nice to see him getting back to that, especially against his old club.
Meanwhile NBA teams are continuing to make moves with several players having their 2 ways converted to standard deals. This frees up more 2 way contracts, yet teams continue to overlook Mac. Only about 20 games left in the regular season so I would love to see some NBA bottom feeder pick him up and throw him into the fire but they just don’t seem interested.
It’s truly bizarre… one of two things happen… either he turns out to be good and you can add a good player, fan favorite for virtually nothing by NBA standards. Or he’s not good, he helps your team get more ping pong balls in the lottery and you can waive him at the end of the season for no penalty. Either scenario is a win win, and either way he at least brings some new fans and excitement to an otherwise pointless end to the regular season.
