Another rough night for the Magic as they got dominated by the Cruise. On the bright side, Mac had a nice overall game with 26 points, 9 assists, 6 boards, 3 steals, and a block. On the downside, he had 5 turnovers and continues to struggle with his shooting in the 2nd half. This is the 3rd game in a row where he had a great first half shooting and couldn’t hit anything in the 2nd half. He now has 56 pts in the first half of the last 3 games, and just 11 pts in the second. However in this one he did do a nice job passing the ball and finding his teammates in the second half.
With Queen and Williams gone it’s looking like it could be a long year for the Magic. Queen could get dropped back down, but he’s given the Magic some good minutes since his call up so it’s unlikely unless they are 100% healthy. Howard was out with an illness, but honestly he’s not much of a difference maker unless he get’s red hot from 3. He’s not a good defender and offensively his game is very one dimensional. Harris helps a little bit but he’ll likely get called back up before too long as well. It’s actually crazy after seeing these games just how much better Mac/Williams/Queen are than Schofield/Harris and even Howard. I don”t think it’s even close. Yet Mac/Williams/Queen had to fight for one 2 way spot in camp while Howard was a lottery pick and Harris/Schofield were never even considered for losing their 2 way spots. Also seeing Buddy Boeheim, he was on a 2 way for Detroit last year and is not even close to an NBA player. It’s just so bizarre what these NBA teams are doing.
Lastly, Mac was once again passed over for a 2 way as the Jazz signed point guard Jason Preston. The disrespect from these NBA teams just never ends.
