Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik Takes Charge as New ISI Chief Today – Startup Pakistan
Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik is set to officially take over as the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) today, September 30. This appointment is important, as the ISI faces several national and regional challenges.
General Malik is known for his strong command skills and expertise in military intelligence, which are expected to improve the agency’s operations. He has a proven track record of handling complex missions and achieving high-stakes goals. Previously, he led the Infantry Division in Balochistan and an Infantry Brigade in Waziristan, showcasing his excellent leadership and strategic planning abilities.
In recognition of his military training excellence, he is also an Honorary Sword recipient. His extensive experience includes serving as the Chief Instructor at the National Defense University and teaching at the Command and Staff College in Quetta. General Malik is a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defense Studies, adding to his extensive knowledge and expertise.
