Karachi Faces Fuel Shortage Amid Petroleum Dealers’ Strike – Startup Pakistan

Karachi is facing a shortage of fuel because of a strike led by the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA).

As of 6 AM today, fuel stations all over Pakistan closed down following the PPDA’s call for a strike.

Even though Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and other companies are still providing fuel, the Oil Tanker Owners Association has made it clear that they are not part of the strike. They are continuing to deliver fuel to railways, airports, and power plants.

Despite PSO promising that fuel supply will not be interrupted, discussions between the government and the petroleum dealers ended without finding a solution. This has caused the strike to continue across the country.
