IMF Likely to Approve $7 Billion Relief Fund for Pakistan in September – Startup Pakistan

IMF is preparing to approve a $7 billion relief package for Pakistan in September. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb confirmed that discussions are currently underway with the IMF to finalize the loan agreement.

The approval of the staff-level agreement is expected to happen within this month. Minister Aurangzeb emphasized that Pakistan is committed to fulfilling all the conditions outlined in the agreement to ensure the successful implementation of the relief package.

This upcoming approval follows the announcement made on July 13, where a three-year, $7 billion aid package deal between Pakistan and the IMF was revealed.

The package aims to support Pakistan in stabilizing its economy and addressing financial challenges. The government’s ongoing efforts to meet the IMF’s requirements demonstrate its dedication to securing the much-needed financial assistance to bolster the country’s economic situation.
