Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, recently shared that her workday extends from 9 AM until midnight. During a casual chat with journalists in Lahore, she discussed some important topics regarding the appointment of vice-chancellors at universities.
Maryam Nawaz pointed out that while the Governor had the option to reject these appointments, he chose not to. She mentioned that the Governor had his own plans for selecting a vice-chancellor, which contributed to the ongoing discussions.
The main focus of her comments was on Punjab University, where she assured everyone that the process for appointing vice-chancellors was based on merit and transparency. “I am making sure that everything is done fairly and on merit,” she emphasized.
Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that she often receives numerous recommendations and requests from Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) regarding appointments.
However, she made it clear that she does not take these recommendations into account when making her decisions. This reflects her commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent process in all her appointments.
