Urgently needed for
HR Manager
Company: G&A Partners
- Managing Human Resource functions including payroll and benefits administration, employee contracts, performance assessments, recruitment, and DEI practices; and
- Assisting the Executive Director with special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practice for hiring; prepares job descriptions in collaboration with program leadership.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and lead the onboarding process.
- Maintain personnel files and other HR records.
- Prepare annual HR documents (e.g., employee handbook, etc.)
- Liaison with outsourced HR Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
- Ensures timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Oversee management of retirement account contributions.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Assess the work environment related to diversity/equity/inclusion and implement a culture of diversity/equity/inclusion.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice and resources to upper management.
- Manage terminations, including exit interviews and notification of PEO.
- Administers staffing matters including disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigation.
- Trains and supports managers with coaching and mentoring employees, employee relations, facilitates discussions and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate and lead HR training for directors, managers, and all staff.
- Facilitate special projects, as needed.
Special Projects
- Perform research and prepare reports for strategic considerations.
- Function as Project Manager on assigned projects.
- Organize and execute other special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
Experience
- Two years of human resources experience in a non-profit or an educational setting preferred.
- Experience in direct supervision and working with low-income or Title 1 schools preferred.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
Other
- Ability to manage and prioritize a wide range of responsibilities and tasks.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage others’ work in a project environment.
- Ability to influence and manage others who may not be direct reports.
- Preschool Environment: This position will office at our preschool located in the Fifth Ward of Houston.
