Good News! X (Formerly Twitter) Restored in Pakistan after 7 Months – Startup Pakistan

The Sindh High Court (SHC) was informed by a lawyer representing the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) that the social media platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter, has been made available to users in Pakistan once again.

This comes after the official request to block access to X was withdrawn, effectively ending the ban that had been in place since February.The court decided to postpone further hearings on the petitions challenging the ban for two weeks.

Although it has been reported that X is accessible in Pakistan, many users are still encountering difficulties when trying to use the platform.The original ban was introduced after the elections held in February 2024, following allegations of election fraud.

During the period of the ban, many users resorted to using VPNs to access X, despite the official restrictions.
