Electric Fans Used to Dry Pitch and Save Afghanistan vs New Zealand Test in Noida, India – Startup Pakistan

The Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand, scheduled to take place at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground in India, was called off on Monday due to poor field conditions.

The game faced multiple delays because the toss was postponed while waiting for the field to dry out. Unfortunately, the facilities at the venue were not equipped to handle such situations effectively. In a last-ditch effort to save the pitch, electric fans were used, but this was not enough to make the ground playable.

An official from the Afghanistan Cricket Board expressed disappointment with the venue, saying that they would not return to this stadium in the future.

This incident underscores ongoing issues with managing cricket grounds and the need for better infrastructure to handle such situations.

The poor conditions and lack of adequate facilities at the venue not only affected this match but also highlighted the broader challenges in maintaining cricket grounds.
