After a successful return to in-person events this year, MedCity News is gearing up for next year’s INVEST, the annual healthcare investing event, which it hosts with partner Mid America Healthcare Investors Network (MHIN). INVEST 2023 will return to the Ritz Carlton, May 22-24 in Chicago.
With a logo refresh, compelling themes and new opportunities for meaningful networking, we intend to continue to evolve the conference and set the agenda when it comes to highlighting healthcare’s transformation that is currently underway. Our goal as always is to unite innovative startups, active investors as well as forward-thinking healthcare providers, payers and life science companies. Here are opportunities for intimate networking sessions in addition to the general networking that will take place on the second day of the conference:
Ask the Investor:
If you are a healthcare startup, you want to be in the room with active investors. These intimate sessions (one investor with a maximum of 10 startups) will be available to any INVEST startup attendee who has registered for the whole conference. One hour in duration, these are off-the-record sessions, so you won’t find our reporters digging for information. This is meant to educate both startups about the investor’s investment priority and strategies and allow investors to connect with passionate entrepreneurs.
Ask the CIO (New in 2023):
Modeled after the Ask the Investor, which ran successfully in 2022, Ask the CIO is intended to bring a top level health system chief information or innovation officer to interact with 10 startups and others in an intimate setting. This will allow for candid conversations between a health system executive keen to address pain points and startups with potential solutions.
Content has always been of the highest quality at INVEST and next year will be no different as we create keynotes and panel sessions under the following themes:
- Payer-Provider Integration
- Driving Health Equity and Access
- Healthcare Staffing, Burnout and Violence
- Creating the Digital Front Door
- Transformational Diagnostics and At-Home Testing
- Cell and Gene Therapy
- Innovations in Oncology
- Preventing the Next Pandemic
- Regulation and Public Policy
- Dealmaking and Investment
Pitch Perfect Contest
As always we will showcase the best and brightest of the healthcare startup scene through our INVEST Pitch Perfect contest. 40 startup finalists selected by investment professionals will vie for the top position across 5 tracks:
- Medical Devices
- Health Tech: Consumers/Employers
- Health Tech: Payers/Providers
We will open up the contest soon and invite applications, so stay tuned for that.
Meanwhile, please save the date — May 22-24 at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago and hope to see you there next year.
