Rain Emergency Imposed in Karachi Amid Predictions of Monsoon Spells – Startup Pakistan
In preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) in Karachi has announced a rain emergency. To tackle potential issues, CBC has assigned 1,288 staff members to special duties. This includes 638 personnel spread across seven sectors for immediate response and 650 workers dedicated to draining rainwater.
Low-lying areas, particularly in DHA Phases I-VIII, Clifton Blocks 8 and 9, and the market area, have been identified as high-risk zones for flooding. To address these risks, heavy machinery and extra teams will be stationed at key commercial areas to ensure swift action.
The CBC is taking these steps to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during the monsoon. By deploying additional resources and personnel, they aim to minimize disruptions and manage the challenges posed by heavy rains.
This proactive approach underscores the CBC’s commitment to effectively handling the monsoon season and protecting the community.
