In a landmark move aimed at fostering digital skills and creating job opportunities, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board has introduced an innovative Digital Internship Program. This new initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, seeks to equip young graduates with essential industry skills and enhance their employability.

Empowering Youth Through Practical Experience

The Digital Internship Program offers 200 positions for recent graduates, placing them in IT companies based in Peshawar and Abbottabad. This hands-on training is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world experience. By working in these IT parks, interns will gain valuable insights and skills that align with current industry demands.

Connecting Talent with Opportunity

In addition to the internship program, KPITB has unveiled the Join IT online portal. This new platform is crafted to connect skilled individuals with IT companies in need of technical expertise. The portal aims to streamline the recruitment process, making it easier for businesses to find qualified candidates while offering local talent new employment opportunities.

Partnership with Google for Digital Skills

KPITB’s collaboration with Google and Tech Valley marks another significant step forward. This partnership will provide digital skills scholarships to 5,000 youth from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The scholarships will allow participants to earn certifications in high-demand digital fields, helping them stay competitive in a rapidly evolving job market.

Support for Startups and Innovation

The Chief Minister also announced the induction of the 2024 startup cohort at Durshal, KPITB’s premier business incubation center. This new group of 20 startups, hailing from various districts, reflects the ongoing commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial ventures. Since its establishment, Durshal has successfully supported 173 startups, generating over 1,600 jobs and significant revenue.

Driving Public Sector Innovation

The Government Innovation Fellowship Program has also welcomed new fellows. These individuals will collaborate with government departments to address challenges and develop innovative digital solutions, further enhancing public sector efficiency.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating, “Our goal is to transform Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a leading center of digital excellence. We are dedicated to providing our youth with the skills they need while fostering an environment that supports innovation and entrepreneurship.”

By focusing on digital skills development and job creation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking decisive steps towards a more prosperous and technologically advanced future.
