PTA Claims Faulty Submarine Cable as Main Cause of Recent Internet Disruptions in Pakistan – Startup Pakistan

PTA has discovered the reason behind the recent internet outage in Pakistan. According to PTA Chairman Hafiz Rahman, a fault in one of the country’s submarine fiber optic cables is the cause of the disruption.

Pakistan has a total of seven submarine cables that provide internet connectivity, and one of them has been damaged. The repair work is expected to be completed by August 27.

Rahman assured that this issue is specific to Pakistan’s cable infrastructure and not a global problem. He explained that the fault is localized and will be resolved once the damaged cable is repaired.

Earlier, there were speculations about the cause of the internet outage. Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima, had suggested that the widespread use of VPNs might be the reason. However, the PTA Chairman clarified that the actual cause is the damaged submarine cable.

The internet disruption has affected many users across the country, causing inconvenience and disrupting online activities. The PTA is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and users are expected to experience normal internet services once the repair is completed.
